Grove school has been allocated £207820 as a Pupil Premium Grant for the 2015/16 year.

We intend to use the extra funding to:-

  • Improve attainment and progress
  • Improve engagement
  • Improve attendance
  • Improve self-esteem

For all our students by providing additional courses, interventions and staff costs for student support and also by providing additional financial support for those students who may otherwise be disadvantaged in their education.

Investing in our teaching will allow the disadvantaged students to benefit and close the gap.  Deploying resources here and improving T & L will have a proportionately greater impact on the disadvantaged

The impact of the interventions supported by Pupil Premium funding wil be evidenced in an improvement in attainment and progress in Key stage 4, in improvements in literacy skills for students in Key Stage 3 and an increase in attendance for all students.

We intend to use funding in the following ways:

  • Providing reading Intervention
  • Putting an additional English and Maths lesson into the curriculum in Key Stage 4
  • To provide Vocational education for eligible students
  • Paying for essential equipment for students doing vocational courses
  • To Run “Top up” English and Maths lessons as an Option  Choice in Key Stage 4
  • Supporting students with transport costs to revision sessions
  • Running a photography course for students
  • Assisting students with the costs of material for Art and technology subjects
  • To cover staff costs for meetings with LAC and respective agencies
  • To help students participate in a wide range of school visits and trips, including activities days, the Birks and other trips and visits.
  • To provide music lessons for students
