Grove College caters for 16 - 19 year-old students, sharing staffing and facilities with Grove School. Students can enjoy the best of both worlds: being members of a College community, whilst having use of the resources of the whole school site.
The facilities in Grove House are for College student use. These include study rooms, ICT facilities, a social area and a snack bar. Students can also use the main School library at any time for study and research. There is no uniform for College students, but we do ask for dress to be sensible and appropriate for work. All students have a personal tutor with whom they meet at least once a week. The tutor monitors attendance and progress as well as being available to offer advice on any matter, including progression to Higher Education or employment.
“Sixth form tutors and teachers are very supportive and know students extremely well.”
The range of A/AS (level 3) courses available at Grove College is extensive and there are some level 2 courses on offer. Subjects are taught by Grove staff.
In addition to their main academic options students can also take advantage of many enrichment opportunities including: Extended Project; Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme; Community Sports Leader Award; Young Enterprise; Mentoring qualifications, and a wide range of visits.
“Students willingly and enthusiastically take on responsibilities and contribute to the school and local community”
The College’s Student Committee is elected each year to represent the student body, and to organise social events. In the past these have included visits, parties and a post-exam Leavers’ Ball.
